Miguel Angel Naya graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1996, from the University of Vigo (Spain). He started Ph.D. studies at University of La Coruña in 1996 where, simultaneously, he was granted to work in the research project entitled "Methods for Intelligent Real-Time Simulation of Multibody Dynamics", funded by the U.S. Army Research Office and led by Professor Eduardo Bayo. He became Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the same university in 1998 and, after obtaining his Ph.D. degree in June 2007, achieved the position of Associate Professor in 2009. His research is focused on the application of multibody dynamics to the simulation and control of cars at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.
