Degree in Podiatry from the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) (2002), Bachelor in Podiatry by the Universidad Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário (Portugal ) (2005), Master in Public Health in Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (2021) and Doctor of Philosophy by the UDC (2011).
I am a Full Professor actively fulfilling the role of teaching and research staff in the Faculty of Nursing and Podiatry. I teach courses at the Undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral levels and have successfully supervised over 70 undergraduate and master's degree projects as well as 26 doctoral theses.
The research activity is of EXCELLENCE (ANECA, 2019 and 2023), extensive and of quality, I3 certification by the State Research Agency, H 29 index, a two six-year period of research by the CNEAI, another for equivalent merits, additional recognition to the research work carried out by ACSUG, EXCELLENCE complement to research work (ACSUG, 2023) and with results reflected in more than 301 publications, 29 complete books or chapters, 3116 citations, 5 research projects, 4 contracts with companies, 788 articles evaluated in JCR journals . Since 2020, he has been carrying out the competitive project SMART_FIRST_RAY, financed with 72,200€.
EXCELLENCE
Also, I am an evaluator in different calls for teacher evaluation, research projects, doctoral programs, master's degrees, degrees for various Autonomous Agencies, State Research Agency and also internationally for the Accreditation of Quality and Prospective of the National University System and International.
Finally, I am academic editor of PeerJ and Medicine, associate editor of Revista Latinoamericana de Enfermagem and Universidad y Salud, Editorial Board of the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, Journal of Tissue Viability, Primary Care , Spanish Journal of Podiatry, Guest Editor in Sensors, IJERPH, Medicine, Pathogens, Nutrients, Biosensors, as well as in scientific committees, congress organizer, among other activities.
