Rubén Pérez Jove (A Coruña, 1998) holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering (2020), a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering (2022), and an Interuniversity Master's Degree in Cybersecurity (2024), all from the University of A Coruña (UDC, Spain). During his undergraduate studies, he completed an Erasmus+ stay at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland). Both his Bachelor's Thesis and his Master's Thesis in Cybersecurity were graded with a 10 and awarded with Honors. Additionally, his Master's Thesis in Computer Engineering, graded as Excellent, received the XIV Award for Best Master's Thesis in Computer Engineering granted by the Professional Association of Computer Engineering of Galicia (CPEIG).
Currently, he is a predoctoral FPU researcher in the RNASA-IMEDIR research group (UDC) and an affiliated member of the Research Center in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC). His doctoral thesis focuses on the development of foundational models in the field of network security. Additionally, he teaches various courses specialized in information security. He has participated in several research projects, such as EDINAF, and educational innovation projects, such as DigitAll. He has also collaborated in the DigForAsp COST Action research network on forensic computing and in various R&D contracts with the private sector related to data protection consulting.
His main interests are focused on cybersecurity and the application of Artificial Intelligence in this field. He holds the Certified Ethical Hacker CEH v11 certification issued by EC-Council and actively participates in cybersecurity competitions and challenges like Capture The Flag (CTF), as well as in cybersecurity awareness events. In this context, he helped organize the C3TF competition at CITIC and achieved third place in the final of the National CyberLeague of the Civil Guard. Since 2022, he has advocated for the defense of the Computer Engineering profession as a member of CPEIG.
