Jorge Paz Ruza received his B.Sc. (2021) and M.Sc. (2022) degrees in Computer Science from the University of A Coruña (Spain), and is a PhD candidate in Computer Science from the same institution under the supervision of Amparo Alonso Betanzos and Bertha Guijarro Berdiñas.

At present, his main research topics are related to Frugal and Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) in resource-constrained environments, in collaboration with national and international researchers and industries. His work finds applicability in fields of high social impact, such as biomedical AI, personalization of AI contents, or the sustainability and transparency of AI systems.

In 2024, he received the XoveTIC Best Research award from the Professional Association of Computer Engineering of Galicia. In 2025, he received the National Award to the Best Research in Recommender Systems by the spanish research network ELIGE-IA.
